Measuring for Half Circle Arch Blinds

Arches rest on top of the blind head rail.  Three types of mounts:

1. EXTENDED ARCH WINDOW-PERFECT

Step 1: Determine blind and arch starting height at perfect point of window opening.
Step 2: Measure blind WIDTH and blind LENGTH.
Step 3: Measure arch WIDTH and arch HEIGHT.
Step 4: Make sure blind length and arch height = TOTAL height of window.

Note: In extended arch windows make arch height fit into the arch height min/max so a perfect arch will fit. Do this by moving the blind up or down. Once again the total height of arch window opening should equal the blind length and the arch height.

2. STAND ALONE ARCH WINDOW WITH SILL

Arch rests directly on sill and a standard valance covers mounting holes

Note:  A standard 2 ½” valance is required.

3. STAND ALONE ARCH WINDOW WITH NO SILL

Arch rests directly on bottom of arch sheet rock ledge so a valance is required to cover any light gaps.

Note:

Perfect arch definition: A perfect arch does not exist but if it did it would be HEIGHT =half the WIDTH

Measuring for Eyebrows Arches

The arch rests on top of the blind.   The three types of mounts are:

1.  EXTENDED ARCH WINDOW-EYEBROW

Step 1: Determine blind and arch starting height at mutually agreed to point of window opening. It is best to let the homeowner know where the top of the blind starts. Blind may follow existing horizontal mullion or be at any designated dogleg height between 5” and 17” A general rule of design follows the proportion of one quarter to one fifth of the width is the dogleg height.
Step 2: Measure blind WIDTH and blind LENGTH.
Step 3: Measure arch WIDTH and arch CENTER HEIGHT.
Step 4:Measure arch DOGLEG LEFT and DOGLEG RIGHT.
Step 5: Make sure blind length and arch height = TOTAL height of window.

Note: Factory adds 1 3/8” offset around sides and top of arch to allow arch to overlap the window opening. For example: window width=34”, actual arch width=35 3/4”

Window arch center height=11”, actual arch center height=12 ¾”

2.  STAND ALONE EYEBROW ARCH WINDOW WITH SILL

Arch rests directly on sill and a standard valance covers mounting holes.

Note: A standard 2 ½” valance is required.

3. STAND ALONE EYEBROW ARCH WINDOW WITH NO SILL

Arch rests directly on bottom of arch sheet rock ledge so a valance is required to cover any light gaps.

Note:

Arches mount outside the edge of the wall and project into to room 5/8" and into the window 5/8" plus the width of the 2" slat when fully open.

Make sure there is no wood trim around the arch opening and that you have a minimum of 2" from any obstruction.
